Wärtsilä has unveiled a methane slip reduction solution for its 50DF dual-fuel engines, converting them to spark gas operation. This technology reduces methane emissions by up to 75%, improves fuel efficiency, and supports the shipping industry’s transition to lower-carbon fleets. The solution is now available for retrofitting on LNG carriers with Wärtsilä 50DF engines.
