Capital Press Article: Oregon Conducting Survey on how Tariffs Could Impact Businesses
The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA), in collaboration with Business Oregon and the Port of Portland, is conducting a survey to assess how recent tariff changes are impacting business plans across the state. The survey targets small and medium-sized businesses involved in global trade and aims to gather anonymous feedback. With new tariffs on imports from China, Canada, Mexico, and other countries, Oregon businesses face significant challenges. Governor Tina Kotek and State Treasurer Elizabeth Steiner have called for stability and predictability to mitigate the economic impacts. Oregon’s reliance on trade ranks sixth in the U.S., with $34 billion in exports recorded in 2024.
